Reprogram Your Subconscious For Greater Success

Christmas is right around the corner and everyone in my house is ready! This is my favorite time of the year. There is so much magic and excitement and hope. My girls (5 and 3) are SO into Christmas this year and their joy and anticipation is infectious.

The other night I had them cleaning out their rooms and playroom. They filled three trash bags with things to donate to less fortunate kids. It was an opportunity for me to teach them about giving back in a way their little minds could understand and a way to help them learn to let go of the things the no longer needed, used, or wanted.

It got me thinking. What do I need to let go of? I started with the obvious things like the clutter in my office and the clothes in my closet I haven't worn in ages. Then I challenged myself to dig deeper. What am I holding onto, things deep in my subconscious, that are holding me back?

There I found fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of not being accepted or liked. Fear of letting people down or not living up to their standards. I also found a deep need to connect with people coupled with a tendency to push people away to assert my independence and autonomy.

As I look to grow and expand my business and the relationships in my life, these are the deeply rooted core beliefs that I hold to be true. They sit in my subconscious mind and are invisibly controlling my actions. And the same is true for you. These things that we hold onto, things that we believe (whether true or not). They act to keep us safe and protected, but these negative beliefs are what hold us back and keep us from greatness.

The good news is you can do something about it!

First, you need to sit and listen to these fears and beliefs and learn why they exist. Where do they come from? What purpose do they serve? What are you afraid of? What is your subconscious trying to protect?

Second, you need to understand your core values and what is important. Then vow to protect those things (like family time or your creativity). When you let your subconscious know you hear its concerns, it will be more willing to let go.

Third, find ways to make positive connections to what you want. You need to override the negative beliefs your subconscious is holding on to. Make sure to find positive associations with the things you want. You can use examples from people you know or people you read about.

Finally, you need to continually remind yourself of what you want and why. Regularly speak out the new thoughts and beliefs you want to have. You are trying to move your desires from the conscious to the subconscious. Often these happen in the form of a mantra that you speak over and over to yourself. They can be things like:

· I like myself

· I have a healthy relationship with food

· Asking for help is a sign of strength and confidence

· Everything you dream of exists outside your comfort zone

· Someone out there is praying for exactly the help and hope you bring

Notice how all of these were stated in the positive. Your subconscious is designed to seek pleasure. You need to make these beliefs and desires something positive for it to associate with.

I bared my soul to you today. What about you? What subconscious beliefs are getting in the way of your success? Drop me a note in the comments or shoot me a quick email. I’d love to hear the “ah has” you’ve uncovered.
